Distribution
Montane western Sumatra, except for the far northern (north of the valley between the Karo and Aceh highlands) and southern parts (south of the valley between Mount Seblat and Pagar Alam).

Comment
Most similar to Megophrys aceras according to the original publication. Munir, Nishikawa, Hamidy, and Smith, 2021, Zootaxa, 5057: 503–529, noted a candidate cryptic species on Sumatra.
