Megophrys tuberogranulatus Shen, Mo and Li In Mo, Shen, Li, and Wu, 2010, Curr. Zool., Chengdu, 56: 433. Holotype: HNUL03080902, by original designation. Type locality: "Tianzishan Nature Reserve, Sangzhi County, Hunan Province (29°20′-29°50′N, 110°20′-110°30′E), elevation 1130 m". Gender disagreement of genus and species name.

Distribution

Known only from Tianzishan Nature Reserve and Mount Tianping in northwestern Hunan, China, at elevations of 1000–1380 m.

Most closely related to Megophrys kuatunensis and Megophrys minor according to the original publication. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 241, provided an account (as Megophrys tuberogranulatus), photographs, and a range map. Fei and Ye, 2016, Amph. China, 1: 663–665, provided an account, photographs, and dot map. Shen, 2014, Fauna Hunan, Amph.: 171–174, provided a detailed account for Hunan, China. Lyu, Qi, Wang, Zhang, Zhao, Zeng, Wan, Yang, Mo, and Wang, 2023, Zool. Res., Kunming, 44: 440, provided an account and placed this in their Boulenophrys boettgeri group.
