Hoang Lien Horned Frog (original publication). 

Hoang Lien Horned Toad (Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 37). 

Distribution

Known from between 1898–2242 m elevation t four localities, up to 92 km apart in the Hoang Lien Range (Sa Pa District, Lao Cai Province, HLNP; Tam Duong District, Lai Chau Province; Mount Ky Quan San, Bat Xat District, Lao Cai Province and Che Tao Commune, Yen Bai Province, Vietnam; presumably to be found in adjacent Yunnan, China.

Tapley, Nguyen, Cutajar, Nguyen, Portway, Luong, and Rowley, 2020, Zootaxa, 4845: 35–52, provided a detailed description of larval morphology.
