Micrixalus specca Biju, Garg, Gururaja, Shouche, and Walujkar, 2014, Ceylon J. Sci., Biol. Sci., 43: 55. Holotype: BNHS 5778, by original designation. Type locality: "Charmadi Ghats, Dakshina Kannada dist., Karnataka state, India".

Common Names

Spotted Dancing Frog (Biju, Garg, Gururaja, Shouche, and Walujkar, 2014, Ceylon J. Sci., Biol. Sci., 43: 55).

Spotted Torrent Frog (Dinesh, Radhakrishnan, Deepak, and Kulkarni, 2023, Fauna India Checklist, vers. 5.0 : 7).

Distribution

Known only from the type locality, Charmadi Ghats (Dakshina Kannada District, Karanataka, India), which lies north of the Palghat Gap and south of the Goa Gap in the Western Ghats.
