Asterophrys leucopus Richards, Johnston, and Burton, 1994, Mem. Queensland Mus., 37: 282. Holotype: QM J58650, by original designation. Type locality: "Stolle Mountain, Sandaun (West Sepik) Province, Papua New Guinea, 4° 48′ S, 141° 39′ E, 1600 m".
