Oreophryne brunnea Kraus, 2017, Curr. Herpetol., Kyoto, 36: 107. Holotype: BPBM 40142, by original designation. Type locality: "near stream on southwest slope of Mt. Trafalgar, 9.1951° S, 149.1616° E, 830 m asl, Oro Province, Papua New Guinea". 

Asterophrys brunnea — Dubois, Ohler, and Pyron, 2021, Megataxa, 5: 521, by implication. 

Common Names

None noted. 

Distribution

 Known from 820–1000 m elevation on Mount Trafalgar on Cape Nelson, Oro Province, and from 900–1430 m elevation on the saddle between Mount Suckling and Mount Dayman, Milne Bay Province, possibly in the intervening uplands of Mount Victory, Papua New Guinea.
