Oreophryne ezra Kraus and Allison, 2009, Copeia, 2009: 691. Holotype: BPBM 20468, by original designation. Type locality: "Papua New Guinea, Milne Bay Province, Sudest Island, W slope Mt. Rio, 11.5054347°S, 153.429945°E, 630–730 m".

Asterophrys ezra — Dubois, Ohler, and Pyron, 2021, Megataxa, 5: 521, by implication.

Known only from the upper elevations of Mount Rio, 630–800 m, Sudest Island, Louisiade Archipelago, Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea.

 Bulbert, White, Saporito, and Kraus, 2017 "2018", Biol. J. Linn. Soc., 123: 12–20, reported on the ontogeny of color change from conspicuousness to crypsis.
