Oreophryne flava Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 168. Holotype: ZMA A.15, by original designation; now ZMA 5823, according to Van Tuijl, 1995, Bull. Zool. Mus. Univ. Amsterdam, 14: 128). Type locality: "Lorentz River (Kloofbivak)", Papua (New Guinea), Indonesia.

Asterophrys flava — Dubois, Ohler, and Pyron, 2021, Megataxa, 5: 521, by implication.
