Sphenophryne magnitympanum (Kraus and Allison, 2009)
Liophryne magnitympanum Kraus and Allison, 2009, Bishop Mus. Occas. Pap., 104: 15. Holotype: BPBM 19358, by original designation. Type locality: "Siruhu, W slope Mt. Obree, 9.44467° S, 148.00923° E, 1640 m, Central Province, Papua New Guinea".
Sphenophryne magnitympanum — Rivera, Kraus, Allison, and Butler, 2017, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 112: 4, by implication of the synonymy of Liophryne with Sphenophryne.
Asterophrys magnitympanum — Dubois, Ohler, and Pyron, 2021, Megataxa, 5: 547, by implication.

Distribution
Known only from the western slope of Mount Obree, Central Province, and from Mount Suckling, Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea.
