Xenobatrachus anorbis Blum and Menzies, 1989 "1988", Alytes, 7: 140. Holotype: UP 5621, by original designation. Type locality: "Finimterr on the Hindenburg plateau of the Star Mountains at an altitude of 2100 m, Fly River Province of Papua New Guinea".

Distribution

Known only from the Star Mountains of central New Guinea (Papua, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea).

In the Xenobatrachus rostratus group of Blum and Menzies, 1989 "1988", Alytes, 7: 125-163, rejected by Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 256, who provided a brief account (as Xenobatrachus anorbis) on page 258. Shea and Kraus, 2007, Zootaxa, 1514: 37-60, commented on types.
