Menawa, 10.5 km N, 15.7 km E of Utai Aerodrome, 1920 m elevation, 3.295° S, 141.723° E, Bewani Mts., West Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea". Junior secondary homonym of Cophixalus zweifeli Davies and McDonald, 1998, when both in Asterophrys

Bewani and Hunstein Mts., two isolated North Coast ranges of modest elevation, separated by a straight line distance of ca. 140 km, Papua New Guinea.

Comment

In the Xenobatrachus rostratus group and closely similar to Xenobatrachus mehelyi and Xenobatrachus subcroceus according to the original publication. The Xenobatrachus rostratus group rejected by Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 256, who provided a brief account (as Xenobatrachus zweifeli) on page 266.
