Platyhyla grandis Boulenger, 1889, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 6, 4: 247. Syntypes: 2 specimens noted, these being BMNH 1947.2.10.54–55 (originally 1889.8.1.31–32) according to Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 76 (who also listed BMNH 1947.2.30.92 [originally number 1892.3.7.53], in error), Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 38), and museum records. Type locality: "Madagascar".

Platyhyla verrucosa Mocquard, 1901, Bull. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat. Paris, 7: 254. Syntypes: MNHNP 1901.233 and 1901.234 according to Guibé, 1950 "1948", Cat. Types Amph. Mus. Natl. Hist. Nat.: 60. Type locality: "Fort-Dauphin", Madagascar. Synonymy by Noble and Parker, 1926, Am. Mus. Novit., 232: 10.

Platyhyla voeltzkowi Boettger, 1913, in Voeltzkow (ed.), Reise Ost-Afr., 3(4): 282. Syntypes: SMF 1181a-b, by original designation; SMF 4282 (formerly 1181.a) designated lectotype by Mertens, 1967, Senckenb. Biol., 48(A): 50. Type locality: "Sakana, O. Mad." and "Anevoka, O. Mad[agascar]." Synonymy by Noble and Parker, 1926, Am. Mus. Novit., 232: 10.

Cophyla tuberculata Ahl, 1929 "1928", Mitt. Zool. Mus. Berlin, 14: 483. Syntypes: ZMB (2 specimens) unnumbered according to the original publication; ZMB 30645A-B (according to Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 40; Bauer, Günther, and Robeck, 1996, Mitt. Zool. Mus. Berlin, 72: 261) and 50104 (according to Glaw and Vences, 1992, Fieldguide Amph. Rept. Madagascar: 272; possibly this is formerly one of ZMB 30645, but clearly Ahl only mentioned 2 specimens as types—DRF). Type locality: "Nord-West-Madagascar". Synonymy by Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 76.
