Platypelis pollicaris Boulenger, 1888, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 6, 1: 106. Holotype: BMNH 1947.2.10.38 according to Blommers-Schlösser and Blanc, 1991, Faune de Madagascar, 75: 80 (formerly 1887.12.22.51, according to Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 41). Type locality: "Madagascar".
