Rhombophryne kotrobaratra Scherz, Glaw, Petzold, Andreone, Köhler, Raselimanana, Hutter, Belluardo, Rakotoarison, Hofreiter, Vences, and Crottini, 2026, Vert. Zool., Senckenberg, 76: 553–554. Holotype: MRSN A2990, by original designation. Type locality: "‘Camp 7’ Antsiranana Faritany (15.4177°S, 49.9403°E, ca. 778 m a.s.l.), Amparihy, Masoala Peninsula, Analanjirofo Region, northeastern Madagascar". Distribution

Known from (1) the western Masoala Peninsula: Amparihy (type locality), Menamalona, and Beanjada, and (2) Antsarahan’ny Tsararano, and (3) Marojejy. It occurs at intermediate elevations (ca 600–1000 m).

Comment

In the Rhombophryne laevipes group according to the original publication, where adult external morphology, morphometrics, osteology, and molecular markers were detailed as well as relevant earlier literature.
