Rhombophryne regalis Scherz, Hawlitschek, Andreone, Rakotoarison, Vences, and Glaw, 2017, Zootaxa, 4273: 313. Holotype: MRSN A4602, by original designation. Type locality: "Camp 3 of Ambolokopatrika-Betaolana Forest, locally known as ‘Antsinjorano’ (14.5433°S, 49.4300°E), around 980 m a.s.l., in the Sava Region, northeastern Madagascar . . . )". Distribution

Known from Madagascar: (1) Anjanaharibe-Sud, (2) Ambolokopatrika-Betaolana forest (type locality), (3) Besariaka, and (4) Marojejy. Elevation of 800 to 1300 m elevation.

Scherz, Glaw, Petzold, Andreone, Köhler, Raselimanana, Hutter, Belluardo, Rakotoarison, Hofreiter, Vences, and Crottini, 2026, Vert.
