Chiasmocleis avilapiresae Peloso and Sturaro, 2008, Zootaxa, 1947: 40. Holotype: MPEG 23299, by original designation. Type locality: "Estação Científica do Programa Pró-Biodiversidade da Amazônia (PPBio), Floresta Nacional Caxiuanã, municipality of Portel, state of Pará, Brazil ( 1° 59′ S, 51° 39′ W".

Distribution
Known from south of the Amazon river, but within its drainage, and west of the Rio Tocantins from central Amazonas and eastern Rondonia, eastern Acre, northwestern Mato Grosso, Brazil.

Melo-Sampaio, Silva, and Peloso, 2010, Check List, 6: 655–656, provided a range extension to the state of Acre, western Brazil, and provided a range map of known localities. Barros, Peloso, Pereira, and Sturaro, 2010, Zootaxa, 2657: 66–68, described the advertisement call. Rodrigues, Noronha, Lima, and Rosa, 2011, Check List, 7: 846–848, provided a range extension and a spot map. Peloso, Sturaro, Forlani, Gaucher, Motta, and Wheeler, 2014, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 386: 34–37, provided an account and (p. 20) placed this in their Chiasmocleis shudikarensis clade.
