Distribution
Known only from the Casanare Department, Colombia, at elevations of 138 to 325 m, with the basin of the Meta River, in the Llanos ecoregion. Endemic to Colombia.

Comment
Comparative morphology, advertisement call, habitat, and molecular markers were detailed in the original publication, which noted that this species was formerly confused with Elachistocleis ovalis. In the Elachistocleis surinamensis group of Novaes-e-Fagundes, Lyra, Loredam, Carvalho, Haddad, Rodrigues, Baldo, Barrasso, Loebmann, Ávila, Brusquetti, Prudente, Wheeler, Orrico, and Peloso, 2023, Zool.
