Kaloula baleata ghoshi Cherchi, 1954, Doriana, Mus. Civ. Stor. Nat. Genova, 1 (47): 1. Syntypes: MSNG (2 specimens), by original designation. Type locality: "Piccole Andamane, fiume Tciongarè", Andaman Islands.

Distribution
Andaman Islands (North Andaman, Middle Andaman, South Andaman, Little Andaman, Rutland, and Long Island), India.
Comment
Chandramouli and Prasad, 2018, Tropical Nat. Hist., Thailand, 18: 40–53, recognized this as a distinct species rather than a subspecies of Kaloula baleata. Harikrishnan and Vasudevan, 2018, Alytes, 36: 247–248, commented on the distribution and natural history in the Andaman Islands, India.
