Distribution
Reliably known only from two localities in Khammouane Province of Laos (Nakai-Nam Theun National Park and in Hin Nam No National Park), in limestone evergreen tropical forests at relatively low elevations of ca. 100–300 m.

Comment
Before its naming, populations were previously referred to Kaloula indochinensis by Chan, Blackburn, Murphy, Stuart, Emmett, Ho, and Brown, 2013, Herpetologica, 69: 334; Chan, Grismer, and Brown, 2014, Zootaxa, 3900: 577; Teynié, Nguyen, Lorvelec, Piquet, Lottier, and David, 2014, Bull. Soc. Herpetol. France, 151: 29; Chandramouli and Prasad, 2018, Tropical Nat. Hist., Thailand, 18: 52; and Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 39), according to the original publication where assignment to the Kaloula baleata complex, molecular markers, adult morphology, and natural history observations were provided.
