Proceratophrys palustris Giaretta and Sazima, 1993, Rev. Brasil. Biol., 53: 13. Holotype: MZUSP 67595, by original designation. Type locality: "Morro do Ferro, Município de Poços de Caldas, Estado de Minas Gerais, Brasil (21°52′ S, 46°50′ W; c. 1400m de altitude)".
Common Names
Plateau Smooth Horned Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 84).
Distribution
Known only from the type locality on the Poços de Caldas Plateau, Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil.

Natural Resident: Brazil
Endemic: Brazil
Comment
Most similar to Proceratophrys bigibbosa according to the original publication and in the Proceratophrys bigibbosa group according to Kwet and Faivovich, 2001, Copeia, 2001: 203-215, who provided a brief account.
