Comment
Removed from the synonymy of Amietia angolensis by Channing, Dehling, Lötters, and Ernst, 2016, Zootaxa, 4155: 21, where it had been placed by Laurent, 1972, Explor. Parc Natl. Virunga, Ser. 2, 22: 90 (and previously with Amietia fuscigula by De Witte, 1941, Explor. Parc Natl. Albert, Miss. G.F. de Witte (1933–1935), 33: 41). That synonymy doubted byPoynton and Broadley, 1985, Ann. Natal Mus., 27: 132-134. See account by Channing, Dehling, Lötters, and Ernst, 2016, Zootaxa, 4155: 21–24. See comment under Amietia angolensis for access to older literature that may address this species under the older umbrella name. See Bittencourt-Silva, 2019, Amph. Rept. Conserv., 13 (2: e181): 12, for comment on population in western Zambia and the first registry for the country. Mali, Banda, Chifundera, Badjedjea, Sebe, Lokasola, Ewango, Tungaluna, and Akaibe, 2019, Am. J. Zool., 2: 38–43, reported the species from the Okapi Wildlife Reserve, northeastern Dem. Rep. Congo. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 352–353, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
