Cacosternum rhythmum Channing, Schmitz, Burger, and Kielgast, 2013, Zootaxa, 3701: 538. Holotype. NMB A7521, by original designation. Type locality: "Nottingham Road (29° 21’ 21” S, 29° 59’ 36” E), KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa. The habitat is flat open terrain with shallow pools and flooded grassy patches."

Common Names

Rhythmic Dainty Frog (original publication). 

Rhythmic Caco (Du Preez and Carruthers, 2017, Frogs S. Afr., Compl. Guide: 422).

Distribution

Currently known only from the KwaZulu-Natal midlands, Rep. South Africa, but expected to have a wider range.
