Tomopterna pulchra (Boulenger, 1896)
Rana pulchra Boulenger, 1896, Ann. Mag. Nat. Hist., Ser. 6, 18: 468. Holotype: BMNH, by original designation, this being BMNH 1947.2.1.36 (originally 1896.5.14.21) by museum records. Type locality: "Lake Tanganyika"; holotype suggested by Willems and Channing, 2023, Zootaxa, 5374: 371, to likely be collected at "Fwambo near south-east Lake Tanganyika".

Common Names
Eastern Beaded Sand Frog (Willems and Channing, 2023, Zootaxa, 5374: 371).
Distribution
Eastern Zambia and south-western Tanzania, possibly extending to northern Tanzania, northern Zambia, and southern Kenya although these require genetic confirmation.
Geographic Occurrence
Natural Resident: Tanzania, Zambia
Likely/Controversially Present: Kenya
Comment
Removed from the synonymy of Tomopterna tuberculosa by Willems and Channing, 2023, Zootaxa, 5374: 361–389, on the basis of comparative morphology, advertisement call, and molecular markers (see detailed account in that paper), where it had been placed by Loveridge, 1957, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 117: 345 (with Rana tuberculosa), Schmidt and Inger, 1959, Explor. Parc Natl. Upemba, Miss. G.F. de Witte, 56: 36.
