Comment
Confused with Hylarana chalconota prior to its naming according to the original publication. Malkmus, Manthey, Vogel, Hoffmann, and Kosuch, 2002, Amph. Rept. Mount Kinabalu: 159-160, provided an account for Rana chalconota that presumably applies to this species. Inger and Stuebing, 2009, Raffles Bull. Zool., 57: 534, commented on the range. Haas, Kueh, Joseph, bin Asri, Das, Hagmann, Schwander, and Hertwig, 2018, Evol. Syst., 2: 89–114, provided a brief account of morphology and natural history for the Sabah population.
