Comment

Confused with Hylarana chalconota prior to its naming according to the original publication. Malkmus, Manthey, Vogel, Hoffmann, and Kosuch, 2002, Amph. Rept. Mount Kinabalu: 159-160, provided an account for Rana chalconota that presumably applies to this species. Inger and Stuebing, 2009, Raffles Bull. Zool., 57: 534, commented on the range. Haas, Kueh, Joseph, bin Asri, Das, Hagmann, Schwander, and Hertwig, 2018, Evol. Syst., 2: 89–114, provided a brief account of morphology and natural history for the Sabah population. Haas, Das, Hertwig, Bublies, and Schulz-Schaeffer, 2022, Guide to the Tadpoles of Borneo: 327–329, summarized the knowledge of habitat, reproduction, larval morphology and coloration. Sabinhaliduna, Arisuryanti, and Hamidy, 2022, Treubia, 49: 97–114, provided a genetically confirmed record from Pasir Angin, Bogor (Java), Indonesia, where it occurs in sympatric with Chalcorana chalconota
