Rugosa susurra Sekiya, Miura, and Ogata, 2012, Zootaxa, 3575: 51. Holotype: KPM-NFA000078, by original designation. Type locality: "Akitsu, Sado city, Sado Island, Niigata Prefecture, Japan (38° 4′ N, 138° 24′E, 11m a.s.l)".

Common Names
Sado Wrinkled Frog (Miyu, Soga, Saito, Evans, Kobayashi, Sekiya, Takahashi, Miyashita, and Yoshida, 2022, Wetlands, 42 (7: 66): 1).
Distribution
Restricted to the Kuninaka Plain of Sado Island, Japan.
Geographic Occurrence
Natural Resident: Japan

Comment
See comment under the Glandirana generic account. Shimada, 2015, Curr. Herpetol., Kyoto, 34: 80–84, compared iris color patter to that in Grandirana rugosa. Miyu, Soga, Saito, Evans, Kobayashi, Sekiya, Takahashi, Miyashita, and Yoshida, 2022, Wetlands, 42 (7: 66): 1–14, reported on conservation genetics.
