Palakkad, Ernakulam, Pathanamthitta, and Thiruvananthapuram districts of Kerala, southern India, all in the Western Ghats south of the Palghat Gap.

In the Hylarana aurantica group according to the original publication. Raj, Vasudevan, Aggarwal, Dutta, Sahoo, Mahapatra, Sharma, Janani, Kar, and Dubois, 2023, Alytes, 39–40: 90–94, reported (as Hylarana doni) on larval morphology of genetically-confirmed specimens from Andhra Pradesh, India.
