Comment
See accounts by Boulenger, 1920, Rec. Indian Mus., 20: 148; Bourret, 1942, Batr. Indochine: 324-325. Anders, 2002, in Schleich and Kästle (eds.), Amph. Rept. Nepal: 293-295, provided an account for the Nepal population. Ao, Bordoloi, and Ohler, 2003, Zoos' Print J., 18: 1117-1125, presented a specific locality for Nagaland, northeastern India. Ningombam and Bordoloi, 2007, Zoos' Print J., 22: 2688-2690, provided a record for Manipur, northeastern India. Hussain, Gogoi, Choudhury, Baruah, Sharma, Kalita, and Sengupta, 2007, Russ. J. Herpetol., 14: 167-171, provided records (as Rana humeralis) for Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, northeastern India, and provided morphometric and natural history information. Sen and Mathew, 2009, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, Occas. Pap., 285: 123, provided a specific record for Nagaland, northeastern India. Das and Dutta, 2007, Hamadryad, 31: 154–181, noted no larval descriptions in the literature. Ahmed, Das, and Dutta, 2009, Amph. Rept. NE India: 42, provided a brief account for northeastern India. Mathew and Sen, 2010, Pict. Guide Amph. NE India: 77, provided a brief characterization and photograph. See Shah and Tiwari, 2004, Herpetofauna Nepal: 70, for brief account (as Rana humeralis). Bortamuli, Bordoloi, Ohler, and Grosjean, 2010, J. Nat. Hist., London, 44: 421–445, described external and buccopharyngeal anatomy. Deuti, Ray, Bag, and Dey, 2017, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, 117: 221–241, provided records from the "duars region", West Bengal adjacent to Bhutan. Khatiwada, Wang, Zhao, Xie, and Jiang, 2021, Asian Herpetol. Res., 12: 1–35, did not mention this species as part of the Nepal fauna, a curious lapse. Zug, 2022, Smithson. Contrib. Zool., 653: 36, briefly discussed identification, habitat, and range in Myanmar.
