Comment
Prior to the revision of Frost, Grant, Faivovich, Bain, Haas, Haddad, de Sá, Channing, Wilkinson, Donnellan, Raxworthy, Campbell, Blotto, Moler, Drewes, Nussbaum, Lynch, Green, and Wheeler, 2006, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 297, placed in the Section Hylarana, subsection Hydrophylax, subgenus Sylvirana of Dubois, 1992, Bull. Mens. Soc. Linn. Lyon, 61: 326. Kuramoto and Joshy, 2001, Curr. Herpetol., Kyoto, 20: 85–95, reported on the advertisement call, as Rana temporalis. Das and Dutta, 2007, Hamadryad, 31: 154–181, noted several larval descriptions in the literature. Biju, Garg, Mahony, Wijayathilaka, Senevirathne, and Meegaskumbura, 2014, Contr. Zool., Amsterdam, 83: 319–322, revised the species, placed it in their Hylarana temporalis group, and allocated all records from India to other species, rendering all Indian literature of this species (e.g., Deuti, Sethy, and Ray, 2014, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, 114: 135) of ambiguous application.
