Odorrana fengkaiensis Wang, Lau, Yang, Chen, Liu, Pang, and Liu, 2015
Odorrana fengkaiensis Wang, Lau, Yang, Chen, Liu, Pang, and Liu, 2015, Zootaxa, 3999: 241. Holotype: SYS a002265, by original designation. Type locality: "Heishiding Nature Reserve (23° 27′ 40.16″ N, 111° 54′ 32.80″ E; 253 m a.s.l.), Fengkai County, Guangdong Province, China".
English Names
Fengkai Cascade Frog (Pham, Le, Ngo, and Nguyen, 2020, Acad. J. Biol., 42: 35).
Distribution
Known currently from only three localities in China: Heishiding Nature Reserve, on the northern region of the Yunkai Mountains, Fengkai County, Guangdong Province; Shiwandashan Nature Reserve and Tongling Canyon, respectively in Shangsi and Jingxi Counties, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China; reported from Bac Giang, Bac Kan, Cao Bang, Quang Ninh Provinces of Vietnam (see comment).
Comment
The sister taxon of Odorrana hainanensis according to the original publication. Pham, Le, Ngo, and Nguyen, 2020, Acad. J. Biol., 42: 33–40, provided records for Vietnam and discussed morphology and genetic relationship with Odorrana hainanensis and Odorrana bacboensis. Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 49, for undisclosed reasons doubted the Vietnam records of Pham et al., 2020, suggesting that they are of Odorrana hainanensis.
