Odorrana lipuensis Mo, Chen, Wu, Zhang, and Zhou, 2015, Asian Herpetol. Res., 6: 12. Holotype: NHMG1306001, by original designation. Type locality: "a completely dark karst cave of Lipu County, Guangxi, China (110° 26´ E, 24° 38´ N; altitude: 182 m a.s.l.)".  

English Names

Lipu Odorous Frog (Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 50). 

Distribution

Known from the type locality (karst cave of Lipu County) in Guangxi, China, 182 m elevation, and from Cao Bang and Bac Kan Provinces, Vietnam.

Comment

Most similar to Odorrana schmackeri and Odorrana yizhangensis according to the original publication. Pham, Nguyen, Bernardes, Nguyen, and Ziegler, 2016, Russ. J. Herpetol., 23: 103–107, and Pham, An, Herbst, Bonkowski, Ziegler, and Nguyen, 2017, Bonn Zool. Bull., 66: 37–53, provided records for Cao Bang Province, Vietnam, along with observations on morphology and natural history noting some morphological differences between the Vietnamese and Chinese animals. Luong, Do, Hoang, Phan, Nguyen, and Pham, 2022, Biodiversity Data J., 10(e75595): 13–15, provided a record, photograph, and description of a specimen from Bac Kan Province, Vietnam.
