Type locality: "Bandar Baru liegt im Battak-Gebirge, etwa 1000 M. hoch" (= Bander Baru in the Battak Mountains, 1000 m elevation), Deli, Sumatra. Preoccupied by Rana tigrina var. pantherina Steindachner, 1867 (= Limnonectes rugulosus).

Distribution

Widespread on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia, ranging from the northern part of Provinsi Aceh to Kabupaten Pasawaran, the southern part of Provinsi Lampung, 425–1545 m elevation.
