Distribution
Known from two localities in the Western Ghats of South India: Ranipuram (932 m elevation), Kerala, and Chikmagalur district (Charmadi Ghats) and Kodagu district (Bhagamandala, Coorg, Madikeri and Thalakaveri) in Karnataka.

In the Indirana semipalmata group according to the original publication. See brief account by Garg and Biju, 2016, PLoS One, 11(11:e0166326): 19–20. : 2–7, reported on the advertisement call. Mudke and Tapley, 2021, Herpetol. Bull., London, 155: 2–7, reported on advertisement call and breeding biology of Indirana cf. tysoni.
