Comment
Biju, Senevirathne, Garg, Mahony, Kamei, Thomas, Shouche, Raxworthy, Meegaskumbura, and Van Bocxlaer, 2016, PLoS One, 11(1): e0145727: 1–17, based on a Bayesian analysis in the original publication, considered Frankixalus (now Nasutixalus) to be distant from Polypedates and forming the sister taxon of a major clade composed of Kurixalus, Beddomixalus, Mercurana, Raorchestes, and Pseudophilautus. They also noted that at least one published misidentified sample of "Theloderma moloch" (Li, Che, Murphy, Zhao, Zhao, Rao, and Zhang, 2009, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 53: 509–522) from Motuo, Xizang, China, correspondes to an unnamed species in this genus (now Nasutixalus medogensis--DRF).
