Comment

Annectent between Telmatobius and Batrachophrynus according to the original publication. See comments by Lehr, 2005, in Lavilla and De la Riva (eds.), Monogr. Herpetol., 7: 49-50, who suggested that Telmatobius carrillae might be a small species of Batrachophrynus. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 411. Sinsch and Lehr, 2010, J. Herpetol., 44: 495-505, reported on geographic variation in morphology. In the Telmatobius macrostomus group of Barrionuevo, 2017, Cladistics, 33: 41–68.
