Telmatobius degener Wiens, 1993, Occas. Pap. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 162: 52. Holotype: UF 39736, by original designation. Type locality: "13 km ESE Yamobamba, 18 km SE Agallpampa on road from Otuzco to Huamachuco (7° 59′ S, 78° 36′ W), Departamento La Libertad, Peru, 3290 m".
