Telmatobius timens De la Riva, Aparicio, and Ríos, 2005, J. Herpetol., 39: 410. Holotype: CBF 5679, by original designation. Type locality: "Valle de Tojologue, Provincia Franz Tamayo, Departamento de La Paz, Bolivia 14° 44′ 33.5 S, 69° 01′ 10 W, 3750 m".

Distribution
Known from the type locality (Valle de Tojologue, Provincia Franz Tamayo, Departamento de La Paz, Bolivia) near to the Peruvian border and Abra Acanacu, Departamento Cusco, Peru; the species presumably occurs in suitable habitats in the intervening area.
