Thorius tlaxiacus Parra-Olea, Rovito, García-París, Maisano, Wake, and Hanken, 2016, PeerJ, 4(e2694): 22. Holotype: MCZ 148746, by original designation. Distribution

Known from two areas of pine-oak forest in the Sierra de Miahuatlan, Oaxaca, Mexico: (1) the type locality and adjacent localities near Heroica Ciudad de Tlaxiaco, 2665–3080 m elevation; and (2) about 80 km to the southeast, near the village of San Vicente Lachixio, 2720–2730 m.
