Distribution

USA: Piedmont and margins of the adjacent upper Coastal Plain in North Carolina, with small incursions into the Piedmont of extreme north-central South Carolina and southeastern Virginia, at elevation of 300 m and below.

Comment

This species represents the Desmognathus fuscus D lineage of Beamer and Lamb, 2020, Zootaxa, 4734: 1–61, according to the original description, where comparative morphology, molecular markers, habitat, and range were detailed.
