Distribution

Coastal plain of North Carolina (vicinity of the type locality in Craven County)m south along the coastal plain in South Carolina into southeastern Georgia to the vicinity of Candler County, USA.

Comment

This taxon corresponds to Desmognathus auriculatus lineages B and C of Pyron, O'Connell, Lemmon, Lemmon, and Beamer, 2020, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 146 (106751): 1–13, and was formerly confused with Desmognathus auriculatus. The comparative morphometrics were provided in the original publication.
