Maritime Alps of southeastern France and in Monaco and maritime northwestern Italy in southwestern and southeastern Piemonte and adjacent Liguria east to western Emilia Romagna and extreme northern Toscana, below 2500 m elevation; introduced population in Vienne County, France.
