Distribution

Restricted to the upper reaches of the Una River and Sana River drainages within the Danube Basin of northwestern Bosnia and Herzegovina, primarily surrounding Grmeč; the species inhabits a complex karst landscape composed of a series of high karst poljes (approximately 600 m elevation) that drain through extensive underground systems into lower poljes (around 300 m elevation), emerging through large karst springs such as Klokot, Krušnica, Sanica and Dabar.
