Syntypes: BMNH 1946.9.5.24–25 (formerly 1910.3.18.84–85); BMNH 1946.9.5.24 (originally BMNH 1910.3.18.84) designated lectotype by Taylor, 1968, Caecilians of the World: 755. Type locality: "Mahé, the smaller.. . from Cascade, the larger from the west side of Mt. Seychellois, altitude 1200 ft.", Seychelles Islands. Restricted to "the west side of Mt. Seychellois, altitude 1200 ft.", Seychelles Islands, by lectotype designation.
