Syntypes: Originally 10 specimens, including BMNH 1946.1.23.5 (formerly 1910.3.18.80), 1946.9.5.26.30 (formerly 1910.3.18.75-79), 1946.9.5.44 (formerly 1907.10.15.51), 1946.9.5.45 (formerly 1910.3.18.74) from Mahé; BMNH 1946.9.5.49 (formerly 1907.10.15.152) from Silhouette; BMNH 1946.9.5.31 (formerly 1910.3.18.83) from Praslin, according to Taylor, 1968, Caecilians of the World: 762. Type localities: "Mahé: Cascade.. .; W. side of Mt. Seychellois, 1200 ft.", "Silhouette: Mare aux Cochons, 1400 ft.", and "Praslin", Seychelles.
