Boulengerula taitanus Loveridge, 1935, Bull. Mus. Comp. Zool., 79: 16. Holotype: MCZ 20001, by original designation. Type locality: "absolute summit, 4800 ft., of Mt. Mbololo, Taita Mountains, Coast Province, Kenya Colony [= Kenya]".
