Maciel, Castro, Sturaro, Silva, Ferreira, Santos, Risse-Quaioto, Barboza, Oliveira, Sampaio, and Schneider, 2019, Zool. Anz., 281: 76–83, reported on the systematics of the species in the genus and the relationship of the genus, placing it as the sister taxon of Siphonops.
