Distribution

Eastern slopes of the southern Ecuadorian Andes, where it is known from four localities within Zamora Chinchipe Province: Estación Científica San Francisco, Abra de Zamora, Parque Nacional Podocarpus and Guarumales, at an elevational range of 1840–2190 m

Comment

In the Centrolene buckleyi complex, previously confused with Centrolene buckleyi, delimited on the basis of morphometric, osteological, call, and genetic data according to the original publication. J. M. Guayasamin, L. A. Coloma, and A. Terán-Valdez in Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 4: 431–433, provided an account, with photographs, which summarized identification, adult morphology, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map for Ecuador), and conservation.
