Cochranella punctulata Ruiz-Carranza and Lynch, 1995, Lozania, 62: 4. Holotype: ICN 15800, by original designation. Type locality: "Departamento de Antioquia, municipio de Cocorná, vereda y quebrada 'La Granja', Km 93, carretera Medellín--Bogotá, vertiente oriental de la Cordillera Central, 6° 3′ latitud N, 75° 11′ W de Greenwich, 900-930 m", Colombia.

Eastern slope of the Cordillera Central of Colombia, in the departments of Antioquia, Caldas, and Tolima, at elevations of 360–1100 m.

Comment

In the Cochranella spinosa group; most similar to Cochranella midas and Cochranella flavopunctata, according to the original publication. Gutiérrez-Cárdenas and Rivera-Correa, 2007, Herpetozoa, Wien, 20: 75-77, provided a new record for Antioquia, Colombia, and discussed its conservation status.
