Centrolenella pallida Rivero, 1985, Brenesia, 23: 346. Holotype: UPRM 4554, by original designation. Type locality: "Guacharaquita, entre La Grita y Páramo de La Negra, 1768 m, Edo Táchira, Venezuela".

English Names

Guacharaquita Glass Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 47).

Distribution

Cordillera de Mérida in its western, southern, and eastern versants (Mérida, Táchira, and Barinas States), and Sierra de Perijá (Zulia State), Venezuela.

In the Hyalinobatrachium fleischmanni group, according to Ruiz-Carranza and Lynch, 1991, Lozania, 57: 1-30. Señaris and Ayarzagüena, 2005, Rev. Taxonom. Fam. Centrolenidae de Venezuela: 217-221, provided a review of the morphology, natural history, and range of this species. See map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 220. Rojas-Runjaic, Infante-Rivero, and Cabello, 2012, Check List, 8: 819-825, reported localities in the Sierra de Perijá, Zulia, Venezuela, and commented on the range. Conserv., 13 (1: e180): 28, for comments on range, taxonomy (suggesting that Hyalinobatrachium ibama as a possibly synonym), and literature.
