Yan, Jiang, Jin, Suwannapoom, Li, Vindum, Brown, and Che, 2016, Zool. Res., Kunming, 37: 7–14, resurrected Liuraninae to include species transferred out of Limnonectes (Dicroglossidae) and into Ceratobatrachidae, forming the sister taxon of Ceratobatrachinae + Alcalinae.
