Comment

See brief account by Coloma, 1995, Misc. Publ. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 87: 31. Almendáriz C. and Orcés, 2004, Rev. Politécnica, Quito, 25: 109-110, provided distributional data for Ecuador. Coloma and Duellman, 2025, Amph. Ecuador. Vol. 2: 125–126, provided an account, with photographs, which summarized identification, adult morphology, systematics, natural history, distribution (including a dot map), and conservation. These authors also regarded the record from El Tornado, Bolívar Province, Ecuador, reported as Colostethus fallax to be identified incorrectly (Almendáriz C. and Orcés, 2004, Rev. Politécnica, Quito, 25: 109) based on the presence of the third finger being expanded.
